Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Cash Posting Supervisor to join our TEAM in Fort Lauderdale!! 

Scope of Job Responsibilities: 

  •  Organized daily, weekly and monthly cash posting batches, reconciles to bank statement, ensures all payments, adjustment, denials and liability transfers are completed accurately, and timely. 
Specific areas of responsibilities:

 

  1.  Supervising a team of cash posters including a team lead, the ensures timely and accurate cash posting. 
  2. Analyze EOB’s, balancing insurance and patient payments; and perform adjustments and credits as needed all within a clearly defined daily, weekly, and month-end close goal. 
  3. Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of Explanation of Benefits (EOB’s) or Electronic Remittance Advice (ERA). 
  4. Read and understand all aspects of an EOB/ERA - One should be able to define and verbalize how the following terms pertain to the payment process: billed amount; allowed amount; deductibles; coinsurance's; co-payments. 
  5. Ability to read and understand different EOB’s/ERA’s Meet interdepartmental posting goals. 
  6. Post all line item payments and document all retractions / off sets, Posting Denials, and Rejections using ANSI Codes or other system transaction codes. 
  7. Works directly with AR Management Team members in month-end closing and reconciliation – along with Year End Audits, (internal and external auditors). 
  8. Troubleshoots payment posting and balancing issue with bank account, and patient accounting system. 
  9. Trains and leads by example for all cash posters. 
  10. Meet monthly closing deadlines Demonstrate the ability to post in all systems. 
  11. Post all line item payments and document all retractions / off sets, Posting Denials, and Rejections using ANSI Codes or other system transaction codes. 
  12. Ability to reconcile patient residual balances from insurance balances – and to ensure the appropriate financial class is located on the account. 
  13. Responsible for filing, organizing, and maintain accurate and complete records of all daily posting batches. 
  14. Responsible for all adjustments, write-off’s, patient and liability transfers and refund processing (debit & credit entries, and unapplied posting). 
  15. Apply standard improvement processes and follow-up through (PDCA) Plan, Do, Check and Act.
  16. Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.
  17. Maintain strictest confidentiality; adheres to all HIPAA guidelines and regulations.
  18. Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks.
  19. Participates in professional societies.
  20. Follows all state regulations for development regarding professional license
  21. Excellent computer skills and record keeping skills.
  22. Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  23. Ability to communicate accurately and concisely, written and oral .
  24. Excellent interpersonal and telephone skills.
  25. Other Duties as assigned

Experience:

  • Three + years of experience in medical business matters at an Acute Level Organization, or Physician practice.  
  • Lean Six Sigma, Kaizen or other Lean Process Management experience a preferred asset. 
Requirements:

  • Associates Degree, Preferred. Experience in specific job function maybe substituted for education. 
  • CPC, CPAT, or CPAM preferred but not required.
