SUMMARY
 

As a leading Global Freight Forwarder, Agility GIL is continually improving and innovating in the area of processes and systems.

As part of our current Transformation initiative, Agility GIL is building and deploying new generation, web-based operations software that will manage the entire “quote-to-bill” operations cycle and related job accounting.

The Transformation team uses a “team-based” organization structure to develop and deploy the software. This includes the use of Agile and Agile-like development approaches in building the software; and a highly user-focused implementation approach in the deployment of the software.

At both stages (development and deployment) the Transformation team emphasizes personal growth within the context of delivering high levels of user satisfaction.

 
POSITION SUMMARY

This position involves the deployment / delivery of the developed software.

The Manager will have project and process management responsibility within his / her assigned areas / branches.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Liaise closely with Senior Managers and branch management to achieve transformation objectives and timelines.
  • Collaborate with Agile Process Owners (APOs), Network Design Owners (NDOs), Functional System Owners (FSOs), and other FI Team Members to ensure process and system consistency and standardization with implementations
  • Identify and communicate risks / issues proactively to the Transformation Director and lead problem solving initiatives
  • Ensure proper and timely project reporting and communication
  • Assist branch management in capturing agreed Transformation benefits (training, monitoring, providing support as required, etc.)

Job Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 2-3 years of experience in project and process management type of role
  • Bachelor’s degree in business related field or alternatively vocational Freight Forwarding training with additional Management training
  • Experience analyzing and implementing transformation projects such as reengineering, off-shoring, centralization, etc.
  • Familiarity with the freight forwarding/logistics industry preferred
  • Successfully complete PSM I and PSPO I Agile certifications within 45 days of start date

Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to learn work flow applications.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit. The employee is occasionally required to walk and use hand and eye coordination. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The employee must be able to travel both domestically and internationally over 50% of the time and drive a vehicle.

WORK HOURS AND ENVIRONMENT

Normal working hours for this position are Monday-Friday, however, working beyond these days might be required by business needs.
