Position: Operational Transformation Accounting Business Analyst

Location: Irvine, Ca / Dubai, UAE / Hyderabad, IN / Singapore, SG / Remote Considered

Operations Transformation Business Analyst (OT BA) is a new role within Agility’s Global Integrated Logistics (GIL) Division to drive software development improvements by taking on business analysis responsibilities in the Job Accounting Agile team. The Agile teams are working with each other, senior management, internal stakeholders, and our in-house development center in the delivery of our new Ops Transactional Platform, as well the delivery of other key digitization programs.


  • Translating Business Needs: Help design the future business processes, providing “next level” details, and turning them into business requirements/user stories, based upon business priorities and representing their interests accordingly. Collaborates with BAs from other Agile teams, as well as members of other cross-functional orgs, in the coordinating of specifications for the IT team to ensure the system is being developed in an integrated fashion. With an emphasis on Job Accounting related development along with Integrations into 3rd party systems and the Oracle Financials system.
  • Technical – Business Liaison: Bridge the communication gap between business interests and technical decisions when working with business stakeholders and senior management. Assist in the development, and communication of, the software’s vision, as well as a roadmap of required features.
  • Development Arbitrator: Works with Product Owners, Scrum Masters, and Implementation team members to balance development priorities given needs of the business and feedback from end users. Supports management of Product Backlog, Sprints, Epics, Features and Stories using Scrum and Agile practices.
  • Testing and System Validation: Conducts hands-on system testing as part of our Agile efforts to ensure business requirements/user stories success criteria are met to fulfil overall goal of delivering a shippable product with each software release.
  • Agile and DevOps Advocate: Use Agile methodologies to advance software (support the product’s requirements backlog, engage in Sprint/Epic/Feature planning activities, work with Product Owner to determine release timelines) and support advancement of DevOps practices and procedures into our software development efforts.
  • Demos and Showcases: Host/Facilitate software review - Participates in frequent software review sessions (e.g. monthly) to make sure the software operates per agreed requirements
  • Training: Consolidate training material utilising various methods using word, PowerPoint and Video’s
  • Workshop facilitator: ability to host and be involved in various types of workshops inclusive of Training, Gap analysis gathering and subject matter brainstorming sessions
  • Support: General day-to-day support of system issues along with user questions and clarity

Job Requirements


  • 5-10 years’ experience working in Freight transportation with Job accounting responsibilities, inclusive of general accounting related tasks, Profit sharing, Intercompany accounting etc.
  • Proficient in MS Office (including MS PowerPoint), Jira/Trello
  • Strong process orientation and analytical skills– ability to analyse and document requirements
  • Working knowledge of and participation in large-scale Agile initiatives using frameworks such as SAFe is preferred, but not essential.

  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally at a high frequency – expect a minimum of one week of travel a month.


Minimum travel of up to 25% to attend workshops and various meetings.


English: This position requires strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively in a diverse multicultural environment and on all levels.


Normal working hours for this position will be defined.  However, the position will require beyond normal working hours to support business needs due to team locations in different time zones.
