Part-Time Nurse (LPN or RN)

Westbury and Commack, NY

Strauss Allergy & Asthma, a division of Allied Physicians Group, is an allergy, immunology, and pulmonary practice based in Westbury and Commack, New York.  Our allergists and immunologists are trained to treat, diagnose, and manage asthma and allergies, whether they are related to or cased by foods, or topical substances.

Strauss Allergy & Asthma is looking for a Nurse to enhance their team!

The Nurse works closely with the physician and other staff members to care for patients and performs a wide variety of patient care job duties. This position is responsible for administering medication and treatment to patients, coordinating plans for patient care, performing diagnostic tests and analyzing results, and educating patients and family members. The Nurse is expected to follow all infection control policies and procedures.

This is a part-time position working twenty-five to twenty-eight (25-28) hours each week.  This practice has two offices – Westbury and Commack.  You will be asked to be available to work in both our Westbury and Commack offices. Additional hours for training will be required.  Additional hours may become available for vacation coverage, absences, etc.

The weekly schedule is as follows:

Monday (Commack) 9:00am – 5:00pm

Tuesday (Commack) 1:30pm – 6:00pm

Wednesday (Commack) 1:30pm – close (7:30pm/8:00pm)

Thursday – (Westbury) 8:30am – 1:00pm

Friday – Off

Saturday (Westbury/Commack) 8:30am – 12:00pm

Sunday - Off

Position Responsibilities:

  • Rooms patients according to company standards
  • Records patient care documentation in EMR accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Coordinates patient care as directed by physician in accordance with company standards and policies.
  • Taking patient vitals and assisting physician when necessary.
  • Administering medications/vaccines as directed by the physician.
  • Process appropriate documents in an organized and accurate fashion.
  • Respects patient confidentiality at all times.
  • Preparing, restocking and disinfecting examination rooms, lab area, and all other patient care areas at scheduled intervals as needed.
  • Representing practice in professional manner and treating all patients and fellow employees in a courteous and cooperative manner.
  • Perform all other related duties as assigned.

Position Requirements:

  • Education: Graduate of an accredited Nursing school required.
  • Certifications: Current New York license to practice professional nursing
  • Skills: Working knowledge of Microsoft office and EMR, GE Centricity EMR preferred.
