Responsibilities

Altec in Osceola IA has openings for Technician Assistants

Essential Job Tasks 

To assemble fiberglass components combined with other related assembly components to produce a fiberglass utility body. 

  1. To provide quality and timely workmanship on each job performed.
  2. Reads blueprints
  3. Reads and understands tape measure.
  4. Performs re-work as required.
  5. Follows all established safety & quality policies and practices.
  6. Learn and follow all work instructions.
  7. Prepare and fit multiple components together.
  8. Learn and operate all equipment within the department.
  9. Support  Lean Manufacturing initiatives
  10. Willing to move to other areas of production as needed.

Should the selected candidte meet the qualifications of a more experienced level in the career path, the job level may be adjusted.

Basic Qualifications

  • High School Diploma, GED or HiSETT required
  • Mechanical assembly experience required
  • Ability to read and understand technical documents – ie. Engineering documents, schematics
  • Basic computer usage required
  • Ability to use measuring equipment
  • General knowledge of Manufacturing/Production processes
  • Ability to regularly lift 50-75 pounds.
