Job Description


Position is responsible for ensuring Reliability in new products during design and development phase. This will also include supporting product designers to develop and execute design verification and validation test plans, failure analysis, Reliability data analysis for new or modified products ensuring compliance to customer requirements.


1) Drive Design for Reliability focus in new products and Test lab with Reliability expertise to the design and Test Lab teams.

2) Participates with design Teams for critical Technical design reviews.

3) Support design team to develop design verification reliability plan aligned with customer expectations

4) Implements quality/reliability test plans and performs failure analysis. Gathers operational and test data and evaluates results. Prepares & maintains documentation for testing.

5) Generates & maintains the failure directory to facilitate DFMEA, PFMEA.

6) Support development of Test lab with focus on establishing reliability of motors.

7) Works with the Global R&D team for knowledge sharing to understand good practices across all sites.

Job Requirements


1) BE (Mechanical Engineering) with 5 to 6 years of experience in design for Reliability OR

2) M Tech in Reliability with 3 to 5 years of experience in design for Reliability (with bachelor in mechanical engineering)


1) In depth knowledge and experience in reliability planning, modeling, testing, data analysis and failure analysis

2) Hands on experience in applying Reliability to design, DFMEA and statistical data analysis (Measurement system analysis, DOE, Weibull analysis)

3) Hands on experience in devising the test procedure & executing the same with after test analysis.

4) Hands on experience on Data Acquisition systems (DAQ) – using Lab view (including programing) and National instrument equipment, PLCs, thermocouples, pressure transducers, etc.

5) Preferred exposure to one Product Development Cycle from concept to launch in an engineering / manufacturing product line (small / medium size / precise products, rotary machines / OEM)
