Job Description

The Business Development Manager (BDM) is responsible for developing and deploying a strategy for Portescap to win and grow in key markets in EMEA. The BDM will work with R&D team to identify customer needs and translate them into technical requirements, while working with the Sales & Marketing teams to develop value selling tools and programs.

 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Conducts primary and secondary research to assess market segment attractiveness, including market sizing, segmentation, analysis of key trends & drivers and potential for growth of Portescap product sales.
  • Lead competitive assessment, collection and synthesis of Voice of the Customer (VOC) including mapping strategic customer accounts, determining customer needs and uncovering customer problems 
  • Develop market specific product roadmaps – translate VOC into actionable product development goals that address unmet customer needs
  • Work directly with R&D, Marketing & Communications, and Product Management to successfully develop and launch new products
  • Researches and provides information regarding target accounts (and contacts within those accounts) within strategic markets to the Sales team.  Develops standard work to integrate information flow within SF.com.
  • Develop internal and customer-facing content & tools to drive sales in strategic market, including sales training on target verticals and account target lists.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Engineering or Science-based degree is preferred
  • Professional business education (MBA or equivalent) or experience (at least 6 years of hands-on marketing, sales, or strategy experience) is required
  • Prior experience with performing strategic market analysis is required
  • Prior experience working directly with OEM’s on product development is preferred
  • Global business experience is preferred
  • Prior experience with precision electro-mechanical products is preferred
