Job Description

This position is responsible for creating and deploying the regional distribution and E-commerce strategy, as well as managing and the development of the Application Engineering, Customer Service and Marketing teams within the Europe commercial organization. A strong engineering background associated to business acumen is considered as an asset to supervise, coach and develop the sales operation team, which is handling both technical and commercial requests, to increase customer satisfaction and accelerate growth in the region. The position also includes regional support to the Product Management teams.  This position will be joining the Portescap team. Portescap is part of Altra.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Surpervise and coach the Application Engineer team to achieve new project growth target set for Europe,
  • Supervise and coach the Customer Service team to improve Key Accounts satisfaction and support small / medium size accounts as appropriate,
  • Supervise and coach the Regional Marketing team to maintain and improve the Leads Management process as well as deploy the global Marketing strategy in Europe,
  • Assign and adjust project/customer ownership to maintain a balanced workload within the team,
  • Develop and maintain collaborative channels and tools with the different company R&D and Customer Service sites (Switzerland, India, USA) as well as Area Sales Managers, Channel Partners and Key Accounts,
  • Develop and maintain collaborative Funnel Management and Reporting tools to achieve Design Wins target,
  • Establish and manage Sales Operation organization and structure in line with the company strategic plans,
  • Develop and maintain strategy, tools and processes to aid selection and manage distributors (including E-Commerce partners) and achieve growth targets,
  • Responsible for training the European Sales team and the distributors.
  • Provide Regional Support to Product Line Management teams by:
    • Develop Regional Product pricing and positioning strategies
    • Support continuous VOC in Europe through market and competition analysis to identify and fill product and service gaps
    • Drive new product launches and deploy promotional plans across sales channels according to global Marketing and product line strategies

Job Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Commerce or Business Management
  • 5+ years’ experience supporting customer and distributor relationships; commercial negotiation experience preferred
  • 5+ years’ experience in Motion industry
  • 2+ years in direct leadership role
  • Written and spoken fluency in English and French
  • Experience with global and multi-cultural organizations
  • Experience with analytics tools; ERP systems experience preferred
