POSITION SUMMARY: Associate will perform a variety of duties that support the sales process including quote and competitive opportunity follow-up, proactive outbound calls to selected direct and distribution accounts, and lead qualification activity. Associate will follow-up on new win opportunities to promote customer satisfaction throughout the quote and order process. ISR may be a customer liaison, responsible for promoting and maintaining positive customer relations. Provide opportunity status information to key areas of the organization including sales teams, product management, operations departments, and management teams. This position requires the ability to follow company policies and procedures. Position could provide career path to other sales or customer service functions.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Along with those identified below, other duties may be assigned as necessary.

  • Qualification of Thomson sales leads from multiple sales leads with documentation in CRM (Customer Relations Management System). ISR will call lead source to qualify lead data and address immediate needs.

 

    • Quote follow-up based on identified criteria within 24 hours of customer receipt. Generate new and repeat sales by supporting supplemental quote requirements and removing barriers to win new orders.
    • Verify that the quote provided complies with the customer’s original request. Educate customers about product features and benefits in order to improve product related sales and customer satisfaction.
    • Support field sales teams to identify opportunities that may require customer support assistance.
    • Work in conjunction with operations teams to ensure that commitments made to gain new orders are met.
    • Provide voice of customer feedback from quote follow-up calls to product management and sales management teams. Identify trends in customer satisfaction or dissatisfaction.
    • Provide win/loss summary reports with quote follow-up status to the management team including: Vice-President and General Managers
    • Act in a leadership role while training and coaching Sales Administration associates on sales support processes.
  • Promptly address customer issues or complaints with the assistance and input of other internal associates.
  • Support vertical market and business unit growth initiatives as identified.

 

    • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages.
  • Conduct sales calls via phone to selected channel partners or direct accounts to identify immediate and future needs and sales potential.

  • Ability to lead by example, setting high standards for effective communications both internally and externally.
    • Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office Products (Excel, Word, Power Point & Outlook).       Previous experience with an ERP system preferred.
    • Demonstrated ability to learn quickly with a willingness to obtain functional knowledge and understanding of company products, policies and procedures.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • 5 years Inside Sales and/or Customer Service related experience.
  • Minimum 2 year degree in related field required.
