Job Description

This position will be responsible for the set-up and operation of machines required to produce quality parts. Success in this position relies on the ability to use precision instruments, to read drawings and sales orders, to inspect work frequently, and to follow sound machining practices and established procedures. This position will be held to standards per the union contract. A more detailed description will be provided in the interview process.

Responsibilities:

  • Pull own material from stock/storeroom to ensure proper workflow
  • Clean, label and serialization to specification as required
  • Select proper tools, tool holders, holding devices, etc. to assure proper setup and machine operation, center bars as required
  • Use all micrometers and measuring instruments required to produce quality parts and make any calculations required to setup and operate equipment properly
  • Keep work area clean and orderly while maintaining safe conduct
  • Maintain 5S requirements
  • Upon completion of operation, transfer product to next operation using available material handling equipment
  • Perform other duties as required to maintain a sound operation

Job Requirements

Minimum Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Shop trade knowledge/education
  • CNC machine experience (lathe, mill, HOB, etc)
  • Machine shop functions, procedures, and practices
