Job Description

Candidates will process and analyze multi-state U.S. payroll data for exempt and non-exempt employees on a weekly, biweekly, semi- monthly and monthly basis.  Payroll processing will be performed in ADP Workforce NOW and CORT Payroll systems.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Knowledge of payroll wage and hour laws, federal, state, local tax laws as well as familiarity with all types of pre and post-tax benefits, 401K plans, and leave of absences rules and regulations
  • Prepare file loads for payroll input
  • Respond to standard and semi-complex payroll related inquiries from customers or employees
  • Assist in the preparation and distribution of various payroll reports, payroll files and record audits to customers and management
  • Provide high level of customer support and ensure positive customer interactions
  • Work in a team environment coordinating with other team members in the processing of payroll
  • Maintain compliance with all payroll related regulatory and internal requirements including effective internal controls
  • Analyze payroll data and research discrepancies within excel templates and spreadsheets (commissions, bonuses, travel & expense, on call payments, garnishments, etc.)
  • Assists with year-end and all other associated processes

Job Requirements

Proposed:

  • 3+ years of a multi-state payroll processing and serving multiple business units and FEIN’s
  • Intermediate knowledge of Excel (VLOOKUP, Sum if, nested formulas, etc.)
  • High School diploma required; Associates degree preferred
  • Experience with ADP Work Force Now, Oracle or ERP systems highly preferred
  • Knowledge of payroll process and principles as well as system/data analysis
  • Working knowledge of union contracts and specific pay policies
  • Professional, organized, have strong attention to detail, while maintaining a confidential work environment
  • Must be able to multi-task and prioritize as well as remain highly organized
  • Solid computer, organizational, analytical, research and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure and tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, positive attitude, flexibility, and a willingness to learn new things
