Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY:

  • Provide leadership and initiative to improve quality performance and best meet customer requirements.
  • Develop and implement quality action plans to achieve 99% First Pass Yield.
  • Champion and lead kaizen activities to achieve quality, delivery, and productivity goals.
  • Develop and execute process necessary to prepare, submit, and manage  PPAP or similar part qualification packages with customers.
  • Insure all quality risks are contained and resolved with effective problem solving techniques.
  • Work directly with customers to manage quality issues with responsive and effective support.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Along with those identified below, other duties may be assigned.

  • Develop and implement quality process action plans, quality procedures, and initiatives to achieve and maintain a state of the art quality system.
  • Apply technical knowledge in the areas of quality and lean manufacturing to maximize productivity and quality performance.
  • Initiate and monitor corrective actions to sustain desired results.
  • Work with manufacturing and design engineering to innovate and improve both product and manufacturing processes.
  • Project manage major quality initiatives
  • Identify and implement permanent corrective and preventative actions for targeted quality problems.
  • Lead and participate in project team activities involving design reviews, product development, startup, and new product introductions. 

 

Job Requirements

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • BS in Engineering, is required.
  • Professional Engineering Certification is preferred (ASQ, PE).
  • Experience with QS9000, AS9001, and ISO9001 quality systems is preferred.
  • Previous quality engineering experience is preferred
  • Thorough understanding of electric motor and electronics manufacturing is preferred.
  • Lean manufacturing experience is preferred.
  • Must have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate with all levels of associates ranging from assembly technicians to Management.
  • Experience with Oracle is preferred.
