Job Description

SUMMARY

The purpose of the Quality Inspector is to check incoming parts and products to assure conformance to specification. Develop inspection sheets from blueprints. Identify and isolate non-conforming material and generate Material Return Reports. Inspect production parts when required. Apply knowledge of parts and assemblies to determine reason for defects.

QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty above standard expectations.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. 

Experience in working in an ISO9001 environment. Working knowledge of Blueprint reading and geometric dimensioning and tolerance. Position requires interaction with personnel in other departments, strong interpersonal relationship skills required. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

   Duties include but are not limited to:

1.  Perform inspection duties in the following areas, receiving inspection, in-process inspection and final inspection.

2. Check parts or products to assure conformance to specifications. Apply knowledge of parts and assemblies to determine reason for defects.

3.Use blueprints, specifications, standard or sophisticated measuring and test equipment to perform inspections

4. Perform inspections and layouts of complex parts, components and assemblies using standard measuring equipment. Will need to perform mathematical calculations as required to determine measurements.

5. Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.

6. Other duties as required.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE CREDENTIALS

High School education or equivalent.

2 years of manufacturing related job experience with the demonstrated ability to successfully handle new responsibilities.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

This position requires occasional travel (driving or flying) to meet with customers or suppliers, or attend training. Employee may occasionally be required to lift/ move up to 25 lbs. and stand up to 50% of the time. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distant vision, color and peripheral vision.

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT
