Job Description

Apply knowledge of measurement science, mathematics, physics, calibrate inspection, measurement, and test equipment (M&TE) in the dimensional, physical, mechanical disciplines to ensure measurement accuracy. Performs Calibration Inspection, Measurement, and Test equipment (IMTE). Assist with Returned Good Authorization (RGA) components to ensure through and accurate processing. Verifies visual and dimensional conformance of product to ensure that they conform to specifications.


Performs On-Site Calibration and Repair not limited to:

  • collects, inspects, certifies and labels measuring instruments and gages.
  • ensures items in the calibration system remain current and do not go past due.
  • inputs certification records into calibration software.
  • performs basic repairs to instruments as needed.
  • adds items to the calibrations system as required.

Discuss questionable dimensional and geometric tolerances with Engineering or Quality Technician III for resolution.

Interface with production to address quality related issues.

Assist with internal audits and inspection of operations and processes.

Complete various reports and spreadsheets accurately and on time

Inspects completed shop work order packets and IPIS for completion and correctness.

Update data for Returned Goods Authorizations (RGA) database and performs dispositions along with engineering.

Creates Quality Alerts and Maintains Display.

Ability to use Coordinate Measurement Machine (CMM) and FARO Arm with supervision.

Maintains a Safe, Organized and Clean Work Environment.

Visual and/or dimensional inspection of in-process or finished materials.

Identify and label discrepant material via the Defective Material Report (DMR).

Verify work instructions / processes are being followed.

Assist in completing corrective and preventative actions.

Writes customer required certifications and inspection reports and deviations as needed.

Inspects product to determine compliance with quality specifications.

Job Requirements

Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma with 3-5 years related experience or Engineering Associates Degree 1 year related experience required.



  • Language Skills – Ability to communicate effectively and write concise reports for all levels of employees. Ability to deliver training presentations.
  • Mathematical Skills - Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as addition, subtraction, fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Reasoning Ability – Must possess Conflict Resolution Skills and strong Analytical Skills.
