Job Description

Altra is seeking an IT Intern to join the SAP Center of Excellence (COE) team located in Charlotte, NC. The SAP COE team supports and delivers SAP and information technology solutions to more than 1,400 users and at approximately 20 locations across the globe for customer master, material master, production planning, FI/CO, variant configuration, quality management, customer relationship management.  The team works with the business to identify and implement best practices to better serve customers, drive and cut costs. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Respond to SAP services requests under the guidance of Senior members of COE
  • Coordinate with business units to gather necessary information to support strategic SAP initiatives
  • Perform mass data uploads
  • Responsible for technical documentation
  • Provide impact analysis and work estimates for change requests
  • Support the migration requirements of projects and user acceptance tests
  • Assist in developing project requirements / timelines

Job Requirements

Critical Competencies

  • Strong organizational skill and ability to communicate both verbally and in writing
  • Knowledge of appropriate change management practices
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Be an effective team player
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize assignments accordingly

Education and Experience Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a B.S. or M.S. degree in computer science, information systems or other IT-related field; will consider other degrees if coupled with SAP or ERP experience
  • SAP and/or ERP experience is preferred
