Job Description

Initial focus and responsibility will be supporting the Service Delivery organization and implementing solutions leveraging the Altra Service Management platform that are simple, intuitive, easy to use, and allows customers to extend and customize the functionality to meet their specific business needs.

The Service Management Developer will work in a team setting on various projects and take the customer’s requirements and build them on the Altra Service Management platform. The individual must understand how the ITIL framework can be leveraged to create best practices for the customer.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop requested new functionality or enhancements on the Altra Service Management instance
  • Demonstrate functionality or enhancements you build to project team
  • Attend and participate in Scrum meetings
  • Assist with user acceptance testing
  • Ensure Project Lead receives timely updates on assigned tasks to facilitate frequent and proactive customer communication
  • Deliver the best service and high quality to all our customers
  • Develop and maintain user documentation and guidelines
  • Train end users to operate new or modified programs
  • Manage and/or provide guidance to junior team members

Job Requirements

Critical Competencies

  • IT Service Management experience with best practices centered around ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library - detailed practices for IT service management (ITSM) that focuses on aligning IT services with the needs of business)
  • Cherwell Service Management software administration and configuration experience is a plus
  • Proficiency in a variety of programming languages, such as SQL, C#, JavaScript. Knowledge of JQuery, Ajax, PowerShell is a plus
  • Familiarity with Microsoft SQLServer and SQL Server Management Studio
  • Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws
  • Able to communicate effectively with non-technical staff and with members of interdisciplinary teams
  • Flexible and adaptable regarding learning and understanding new technologies
  • Strong written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to conduct research into software-related issues and products
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment

Education and Experience Requirements 

  • Associates or bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline (such as Computer Science, Engineering, Technology, etc.) or equivalent experience
  • Certifications in Microsoft technologies is a plus
  • ITIL certification is a plus
  • Prior experience interviewing end-users for insight on functionality, interface, problems, and/or usability issues
  • Hands-on experience developing test cases and test plans
