Job Description

Primary Function:       

Performs numerous shipping, receiving and warehouse tasks necessary under close supervision. Basic functions include accurate receipt, stocking, pulling and shipment of materials and supplies

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Verify materials and stock in appropriate location.
  2. Pull component parts to fill orders as needed.
  3. Uses a PC to create, assign and verify transactions, insures they are timely and accurate.
  4. Box or crate product for shipment to customer.
  5. Label shipping address correctly.
  6. Weigh and measure the dimension of all outgoing shipments.
  7. Performs related duties as assigned including, but not limited to, working in two or more areas in a day, and conform to all safety rules, regulations and Quality Manual Standards.

Perform numerous shipping and receiving tasks necessary under close supervision having to do with preparation, expediting, and dispatching of shipments and receiving and checking in of raw materials, purchased stock and finished items, equipment, supplies, and returned goods. Work from blueprints, job specifications, bills of materials, requisitions and miscellaneous transportation documents to check products to be shipped against shipping orders to insure amounts, identifications, and correct materials, to check received goods to purchase orders or receiving slips or to identifications, type, part number, dimension, size, weight, and general quality, verify orders and fill, crate and pack orders, use ready-made creates or build crates for shipment, work with truck drivers to include standard items for product shipment, load, block, brace, nail, skid and strap containers as necessary. Prepare stencils and apply to shipments and complete shipping instructions. Duties require some experience and limited knowledge of company parts, supplies, and equipment and the material system. Minimum skills are necessary to verify s hipping of received goods, verifying and counting if necessary and checking packing lists, operate fork lift for delivery, exercises care in handling and in keeping necessary records and files. Pickup/deliver orders, parts, or equipment in or out of town. Perform related duties as assigned. Comply with all safety rules and regulations. Keep work area clean and orderly.

Education Required:

Minimum requirement of a high school diploma or general educational diploma (G.E.D).

Required Skills:

Must have knowledge, skills and ability to learn basic Shipping/Receiving/Warehousing, and be able to expand into areas of more responsibility. Must be capable of being certified as a forklift driver.

The employee will constantly move up to ten (10) pounds, frequently move up to twenty (20) pounds, occasionally move up to one hundred (100) pounds. At all times, the employee should maximize the usage of mechanical aids at their disposal. The employee will perform the following activities: constantly be reaching, handling and feeling. Frequently stooping, crouching and grasping and occasionally be climbing, balancing and kneeling.

The work environment is mostly in a production setting.
