Job Description

Reporting to the Corporate Controller, this position is part of the Shared Services network of support associates. Responsible for financial close, financial compliance including SOX, analytical review of global manufacturing sites, and other ad hoc assignments and analyses as directed by the Corporate Controller, Director of FP&A or CFO. This position is located in Marengo, IL and is part of the Thomson Division within Altra Industrial Motion (the parent company).

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist in the month-end close for multiple Thomson operating companies
  • Provide product costing support for multiple Thomson operating companies
  • Provide critical monthly analytical review of site balance sheet results
  • Perform on-site balance sheet reviews as required
  • Partner with Tax department to provide data for tax packages
  • With direction from Corporate Controller, lead compliance processes for Thomson
  • Maintain adequacy of internal control structure to ensure Sarbanes Oxley compliance
  • Ad-hoc analysis as required for capital asset acquisitions, working capital reviews, etc.
  • Support FP&A group during annual budget process
  • Other duties as assigned by finance leadership

Job Requirements

 EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • High School or GED required; Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance preferred
  • 2+ years of accounting experience required; Manufacturing costing environment preferred
  • Experience with a manufacturing ERP system (ideally Oracle) preferred
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel required; Advanced user preferred

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Strong manufacturing / costing accounting skills
  • Experience with Sox compliance testing and auditing
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, and financial system knowledge
  • Strong interpersonal skills along with excellent written and verbal communication
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Ability to interact with employees at various levels
  • Ability to collaborate among decentralized teams
