POSITION SUMMARY:
The Group Leader will lead work teams to the following priorities: teamwork, safety, quality, customer service, cost and production. They will actively participate in the training of employees and adherence to stand operating procedures.

Job Requirements

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES AS GROUP LEADER:
  • Establish and develop back-up coordinator for the assembly area to help manage day-to-day activities in team coordinator's absence.
  • Studies job packet for accuracy, notifying appropriate individuals of any errors.
  • Studies blueprints to establish logical assembly sequence, at times for multiple jobs.
  • Responsible for directing a team of individuals working on a given assembly job.
  • Assists in the assembly of assigned jobs.
  • Performs spot inspections throughout assembly process to assure product is being assembled correctly the first time and that the job is on schedule according to established due dates.
  • Prepares accurate updates for the production schedule and notifies other members of production meeting of any issues and concerns.
  • Logistics for tear down and ship.
  • Ensure QIK forms have complete information and are filled out accurately.
  • Returns all excess parts for restocking at completion and shipment of a job.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Ensure proper and accurate completion of labor reports, material issues, kit lists, scrap reports and material moves.
  • General wiring skills for performing the following skills are necessary:
    • Control panel assembly
    • Control cabinet assembly
    • Pushbutton console assembly
    • Multi-phase circuit wiring
    • PLC knowledge
    • Conduit & wire way install
    • Control circuit wiring
  • General mechanical skills and proficient use of hand tools are necessary for performing the following tasks:
    • Structural assembly
    • Mechanical drive assembly
    • Fluid control assembly
    • Guard and cover assembly
    • Mechanical assembly
  • Conducts safety training for shop associates.
  • Track, monitor and provide immediate feedback on employee performance.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as required.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Two years or more of manufacturing experience.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Technical background in the material handling industry or equivalent industry.
  • Enjoy problem solving.
  • Have the ability to adapt to and handle various situations in a consistent, fair, and expedient manner.
  • Be able to prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Be able to work well under pressure.
