Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY:   Thisposition is responsible leading the assembly of components and sub-assembliesof metal parts according to job packets/blueprints, with ability to plan andperform large and complex assemblies with the ability to direct others withminimum supervision.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

    1. Studies job packet for accuracy, notifying appropriate individuals (Team Coordinator) of any errors.
    2. Studies blueprints to establish logical assembly sequence, at times for multiple jobs.
    3. Responsible for directing a team of individuals working on a given assembly job.
    4. Assists in the assembly of assigned jobs.
    5. Performs spot inspections throughout assembly process to assure product is being assembled correctly the first time and that the job is on schedule according to established due dates.
    6. Returns all excess parts for restocking at completion and shipment of a job.
    7. Maintains clean and safe work area.
    8. Operates power tools such as band saw, drill press, grinder, and belt sander.
    9. Other duties and responsibilities as required.

Job Requirements

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
 
  1. Associates Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience in lieu of a degree.
  2. One year of previous experience in a manufacturing environment.
     
    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
     
  1. Previous blueprint reading experience.
  2. Ability to read a ruler, tape measure, caliper and micrometer.
  3. Knowledge of numbers and dimensions.
  4. Proficient with the use of small handtools.
  5. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
