Job Description

Administrative Technician



Performs tasks related to assisting the Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) Division in a variety of professional administrative requiring research and analysis in support of Human Services Department.





Work Functions and Duties:





  • Ensures compliance with law and Department policy and procedures implementing records request.



  • Process and research subpoenas received by the department



  • Recognizes various types of non-disclosure information contained within a wide range of agency records.



  • Database entry



  • Communicates effectively with all levels of the program offices, division and management as well as with the City Attorney’s office.



    Knowledge & Abilities




  • Knowledge of Child Protective Services and Adult Protective Services policies and procedures



  • Knowledge of VA Codes related to Social  Services records to include CPS, APS and Financial Assistant records



  • Knowledge of confidentiality and the release of I information to Social Services, Law Enforcement, CASA Workers, Medical Examiners etc.



  • Knowledge if HIPPA rules and regulations



  • Ability to effectively communicate



  • Ability to follow oral and written instruction



  • Ability to multi-task



  • Ability to meet deadlines





Job Requirements

Qualifications:




  • Four years of administrative experience  Preferably in a legal setting



  • BA/BS in relevant field (Business Admin, Paralegal Studies, and Social Services) preferred.



  • Performs a variety of sorting and filing tasks; answers the phone, takes messages, and disseminates information; opens, sorts, distributes, collects, and delivers mail; performs a number of tasks such as posting and recording data



  • Create and input data into spreadsheets, tracking documents



  • Advanced knowledge  and proficiency of Excel, PowerPoint, & WORD





Employees are required to provide the following at time of hire, valid State of Virginia or NC driver’s license, Car insurance  & DMV Report.
