Job Description

Judson A. Smith is based an hour north of Philadelphia and is a wholly owned subsidiary of ATW Companies, Inc.  They are a leading manufacturer and supplier of high-reliability metal tubing primarily for the medical industry.   In addition the business supplies customers in the military arena.    Judson A. Smith has been operating for over 50 years and has doubled in size over the last decade.  Judson A. Smith is involved with efforts around a Lean transformation, exciting growth, and a team that is committed to continuous improvement.

The ideal candidate will have a background in CNC machining set up, understand G-code and the Cartesian coordinate system. Will have the ability to work independently, will utilize available equipment to produce high quality product in a timely, professional manner. Tends fabricating machine's essential duties and responsibilities, etc.

Accountabilies:

  • Setup CNC machining centers/lathe and operate while ensuring the setup will produce the necessary quality throughout the production run and ensuring that setup and cycle times are adhered to.
  • Prove out, de-bug and give feedback on CNC programs.
  • Write CNC programs as necessary. 
  • Build and modify fixtures as necessary. 
  • Responsible for first article inspection 
  • Document how jobs are setup, run and checked as thoroughly as possible. 
  • Advise on job approach.
  • Setup and operate secondary operations when cycle time of your primary machine allows. 
  • Setup and operate manual equipment as necessary. 
  • Monitor the work of operators assigned to you. 
  • Requests orders of tools and materials necessary to keep work flowing. 
  • Maintain all equipment as necessary. 
  • Aids in training of equipment as needed 
  • May assist in finishing, quality control or quoting.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2 years experience in a machining environment.
  • Techinical school training preferred.
