Job Description

Judson Smith is based just outside Boyertown, PA is a wholly-owned subsidiary of ATW Companies.  We are a leading manufacturer of metal tubular parts and machined components to custom specifications for the medical device, aerospace and automotive industries.  Capabilities include Swiss Screw machine parts, laser cutting and welding, tube fabrication, CNC milling / turning, wire EDM and more.  

 The Director of Sales & Marketing requires a self-motivated strategic thinker with a proven record of producing predictable results individually and through others. This individual should be organized, detailed oriented and able to multi-task effectively   It requires someone who enjoys building and sustaining relationships with customers, the sales teams at all the companies, the marketing team, and operations. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of successful sales management specifically in the Aerospace and medical  markets.


  • Monitor and ensures productivity of daily operations of the sales team
  • Establish annual budgets for sales payroll, travel, entertainment and advertising and monitor spending associated with these accounts.  Prepare and implement annual sales forecasts and objectives by product class, and customer.
  • Accomplishes marketing and sales objectives by planning, developing, implementing, and evaluating advertising, merchandising, and trade promotion programs; developing market penetration plans.  Analyze customer needs and design sales, customer service, and account management processes to acquire and retain accounts. 
  •  Assess current and potential business in existing accounts and create a strategy to grow business keeping abreast of products, market conditions, and competitive activities.  Improves product marketability and profitability by researching, identifying, and capitalizing on market opportunities
  •  Maintains relationships with clients by providing support, information, and guidance; researching and recommending new opportunities; recommending profit and service improvements.
  •  Maintains quality service by establishing and enforcing organization standards.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; benchmarking state-of-the-art practices; participating in professional societies.
  • Must understand the general requirements of ISO9001:2008/2015, the Quality Policy and have a working knowledge of the Quality Management System in terms of the job function and interaction with process owners.  Must also understand AS9100 and FDA requirements as they relate to Judson Smith.


  •  Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required
  •  Candidates should have an understanding of engineered metal products and manufacturing process in both a high-volume and low-volume manufacturing environment.
  •  Successful experience developing relationships with Channel partners and leveraging Distributors.
  •  Extensive experience leading a sales team; setting sales plan, developing metrics, coaching, training, and developing accordingly.
  •  General talent management skills should include: review of current staff, training, developing, and ability to make subsequent staffing decisions in a timely manner.
  •  Active participation with industry related trade-shows, associations, and other professional activities that lead to stronger brand equity
  • Available for extensive travel up to 50%
