The primary responsibility of the Molding Process Engineer is responsible for developing, implementing, and sustaining best manufacturing processes and systems for the molding value stream.  This person is the Process Owner for the molding value stream, which includes responsibility for equipment and process FMEAs (with a safety focus), SPC development and monitoring and assisting with the development of the 5-year plan for equipment, process and technology.  In addition to the technical responsibilities this position will have management accountability for the Set-Up technician team. #CB


  • Creation, regular review and updating of equipment and process FMEAs for the molding value stream
  • Assist in developing performance metrics for manufacturing equipment and work with maintenance to establish proper predictive maintenance for equipment
  • Assist the engineering team in launching commercialization of new components by debugging new molds, developing the injection molding process, and designing/implementing molding automation for production
  • Review, provide input and approve new mold design/drawings, and modifications to current mold design/drawings
  • Design, review and propose automation improvements for the molding value stream
  • Troubleshooting and root cause analysis on molding process issues
  • Lead team review of molding process KPIs and manage action items/projects needed to drive continuous improvement
  • Develop, improve and modify manufacturing procedures and work instructions as needed
  • Provide leadership in manufacturing for lean, process control and root cause analysis tools for direct reports, peers and other team members
  • Maintain technical edge for the entire molding team by keeping abreast of advancements in injection mold processing and related equipment
  • Provide technical assistance within other areas of the Company as needed
  • Perform engineering changes conforming to internal quality requirements
  • Oversee the training of personnel in the proper use and operation of engineering documents, tooling and equipment in the value stream 



  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in the MIM or medical injection molding field
  • Proficient in molding machine operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance
  • Experience with molding machine automation design (end of arm tooling), programming, operation, troubleshooting and maintenance
  • 3 years’ experience working with Lean concepts and tools (one-piece flow, FIFO, Kan Ban, etc.)
  • Understanding of process control/validation (FMEA, IQ/OQ/PQ, SPC, etc.)
  • Proficient with computer skills, use of inspection equipment and statistical methods
  • Familiar with various metrology equipment such as micrometers, optical microscopes, hardness testers, etc.
