This position will be tasked with evaluating current processes, tooling and equipment capabilities and recommending and instituting improvements. These improvements should be centered around process efficiencies, tooling improvements and refurbishments, equipment upgrades and cost reductions. The candidate will be responsible for creating drawings in Solidworks 3D format and all necessary detailing, quoting, and execution. Ability to perform root cause analysis is critical. The candidate should possess a good mechanical aptitude to assist on the manufacturing floor with issues and recommend actions based on sound decision making. Responsibilities also include quoting of new parts and tooling and part setups and establishment of methods of manufacturing in our ERP system. Stamping and forming experience is recommended. Knowledge of firearms is a plus.


  • Research and development of new manufacturing processes and products
  • Provide tooling and part quotations to sales department as required
  • Develop asset management strategies for machine and tooling performance upgrades or new capability assessments and develop requirements for input into the capital planning process
  • Provide mathematical/data driven analysis for effective decision-making and input into process improvement methodologies, resource allocation, system design, materials management, and other production issues
  • Refine current manufacturing processes and tooling to improve profitability
  • Facilitate continuous improvement/Lean projects
  • Analyze and investigate related specifications, process, and work operation to detect, eliminate, and prevent recurrence of potential causes of non-conforming product
  • Cross training into drawn tubing products department
  • Setup parts and methods of manufacturing in ERP system. Maintain setups and make changes via our ECN process  


  • 3 + years experience in a High Mix/Low Volume Production Environment
  • ISO 9001-2015 experience
  • Knowledge of forming and progressive die stamping
  • Knowledge of SPC and other TPM activities
  • Project management experience
  • Excellent computer skills
  • Solidworks design experience necessary
  • Remain current with industry knowledge
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong problem solving skills
  • Ability to comprehend design drawings
  • Previous experience drafting work instructions and standard operating procedures


  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent degree in another discipline.
