Job Description

Judson Smith is based just outside Boyertown, PA and is a wholly-owned subsidiary of ATW Companies and a leading manufacturer of metal tubular parts and machined components to custom specifications for the medical device, aerospace and automotive industries.  Capabilities include Swiss Screw machine parts, laser cutting and welding, tube fabrication, CNC milling / turning, wire EDM and more.  

This positions will focus on work in the Lathe Department and will also perform tasks including, but not limited to, machine/equipment operation, visual inspection, measurement, deburring, lifting and moving materials, and other activities in a safe, timely and productive manner.


  • Take initiative in creating a safe work environment, paying attention to surroundings and participating in keeping self and coworkers safe.
  • Works from work instructions or procedure sheets to perform operations at assigned area
  • Operates equipment as directed by supervisor
  • Perform quality checks as outlined in the procedure; seeks assistance when recognizing quality concerns that are outside the scope of the operator level.
  • Perform clean-up of work space as required.
  • Use Kanban cards to continue workflow
  • Performs accurate data entry in ERP and payroll systems; maintains accurate records and logs as required
  • Contribute to problem solving to improve product quality
  • Employees must understand the general requirements of ISO9001:2008/2015; employees are expected to understand the Quality Policy and have a working knowledge of the Quality Management System in terms of their job function and interaction with process owners.


  • Minimum high school diploma or GED
  • Basic knowledge of manufacturing
  • Able to read a micrometer and, as needed, calipers and verniers.
  • Must know basic math (see below) and comprehend materials written in English.
