Who are we?

The Program for Assertive Community Treatment (PACT) program is a highly integrated outreach and 24/7 residential program that helps individuals meet their goals and reduce hospitalizations. PACT provides clinical wraparound support in the community and in our group residential program to perpetuate recovery and wellness for the individuals served. The PACT team is forensic-focused and designed to reduce arrests and incarcerations.

Your experience, knowledge and great skills will support the Peer Specialist program with the following:

  • Providing assistance, monitor and crisis intervention for adults on their daily living.
  • Ensuring quality of life through empowerment, safety awareness, respect and dignity.
  • Facilitating mutual support and self-help groups and activities to support needs, wants and hopes of people receiving services.
  • Sharing your own experience of recovery to support the persons served
  • Assisting individuals with organizing life activities.
  • Providing support, resource information, and advocacy to help individuals move forward in their own process.
  • Supporting consumers and families around behavioral needs and medical needs.
  • Providing safe and timely transportation in your own vehicle, as needed for medical appointments, recreational and other activities.

What are we looking for in a Peer Specialist?

  • Commitment to empowerment and growth, human rights, and community integration of individuals served.
  • High school diploma or G.E.D. with experience (required); Bachelor’s Degree (preferred).
  • At least six months of experience in human services (preferred).
  • Lived experience of mental health recovery (required) diagnosable mental health struggles (for example, anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, PTSD, etc.) and/or substance use/addiction history and is now actively in recovery/sobriety
  • Massachusetts Certified Peer Specialist Training (preferred).
  • Valid driver's license and a reliable car available for working hours (required).
