Job Description

Become a part of our team of competent and compassionate professionals as a Peer Specialist in the PACT program at Behavioral Health Network!

As a Peer Specialist, you will provide assistance, monitor and crisis intervention for adults on their daily living while ensuring quality of life through empowerment, safety awareness, respect and dignity.  You will facilitate mutual support and self-help groups and activities to support needs, wants and hopes of people receiving services.  As a Peer Specialist, you can share your own experience of recovery to support the persons served and assist them in the organization of life activities. You will provide support, resource information, advocacy and related offerings to help others move forward in their own process.  Through your work as a Peer Specialist, you will get the opportunity to support consumers and families around behavioral needs and medical needs.  You will also provide safe and timely transportation in your own vehicle, as needed for medical appointments, recreational and other activities.

The PACT program provides clinical support of an in-patient team in the community.  PACT is a highly integrated outreach program that helps adults meet their goals and reduce hospitalizations.  The PACT team is forensic –focused and is designed to reduce arrests and incarcerations and also operated as a 24/7 group residence for five individuals.

Job Requirements

Peer Specialists at Behavioral Health Network have the following qualities:

  • Commitment to empowerment and growth, human rights, and community integration of individuals served. 
  • At least six months experience in human services (preferred). 
  • Lived experience of mental health recovery (required).
  • Massachusetts Certified Peer Specialist Training (preferred).
  • High school diploma or G.E.D. with experience (required); Bachelor’s Degree (preferred).
  • Valid driver's license and a reliable car available for working hours (required).
