Job Description

Bios Area Director will work under the supervision of the State Administrator. The area director has the primary responsibility for ensuring the delivery of high quality services for people served from the area office and managing the area office so as to provide smooth operation of all aspects of the office.


  1. A Bios Area Director has the responsibility for ensuring program coordinators are adequately trained and that PC job performance results in delivery of high quality services.
  2. The Area Director is responsible for ensuring monthly reports and all other financial and program reports are submitted according to outlined deadlines.
  3. The Area Director shall be familiar with all aspects of the programs of the people served from the area office.
  4. The Area Director is responsible for area office operation;
  5. The Area Director is responsible, with input from the appropriate Division Director, for admission of individuals into programs of Bios in their area as well as complete and timely transition of all new cases to the office.
  6. The Area Director is responsible for ensuring notification of Case Management and following the individual's protocol in the event of an emergency;
  7. The Area Director is responsible, in cooperation with the appropriate Division Director, for employee evaluations in the Area Director's assigned area. This includes involvement in employee disciplinary actions;
  8. The Area Director is responsible for being on - call for emergencies and problems related to their area office. This includes reporting such problems to the corporate office, to the appropriate person.
  9. Fiscal responsibility: ensure that all applicable financial records are current and office budget as required by the corporate offices are provided.
  10. Administrate and manage any other support functions that ultimately fall under the scope of the job description. Bios
  11. Area Director's are charged with performing other duties and tasks as assigned by the appropriate Bios Corporate Officers and/or CEO.
  1. Bachelors Degree or higher in related field
  2. Minimum of two years experience in the field of developmental disabilities
  3. Excellent written and verbal communication skills
