Carrols Restaurant Group, Inc., a growing company located in Syracuse, NY, and one of the largest restaurant companies in the U.S., has an excellent opportunity in our Marketing department for a Marketing Coordinator.


To increase sales and profits at the restaurant and area levels by developing, planning, and implementing effective local store marketing and restaurant community involvement programs.


  • Develop and implement local marketing plans and programs to maximize market opportunities, effectively integrating them into national marketing strategy.
  • Evaluate and recommend requests for sponsorships and donations. Coordinate company involvement with community and non-profit organizations.
  • Visit units to research and communicate local store marketing programs and to enhance rapport with Restaurant Management, District Manager and Regional Director as needed.
  • Monitor targeted restaurant with negative sales trends and develop plan of attack program, including tactics and execution of these programs.
  • Plan and execute grand opening and grand re-opening activities as construction on restaurants is completed.
  • Responsible for copy development, memo communications, legal approval and ordering by working with the Marketing Department and Graphics to order all materials and communicate to all proper personnel. Be familiar with the procedures for placing newspaper, radio ads, direct mailings and social/digital media.
  • Attend DMA and other Burger King conference calls and meetings as requested.
  • Survey and maintain a market awareness of market conditions to include competitive advertising and promotional activity, economic conditions, etc.
  • Assist training field personnel through seminars, etc. as necessary.
  • Maintain organized files for each restaurant's marketing activities.
  • Collect data and analyze promotions as requested.
  • Develop programs that enhance the image of the company through community organizations, Chamber of Commerce and local school associations.
  • Handle customer complaints in a way which maintains a positive relationship between customers and company, when needed.
  • Responsible for acquiring, renewing and maintaining highway signs and billboards.
  • Keep contracts and reports up-to-date.
  • Coordinate outside coupon sources, fundraising books and discount cards, etc.
  • 30% - 40% travel required.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • 4-year degree in Marketing/Business Administration is required.
  • Minimum 2 years experience in the Marketing field required.
  • Familiarity with restaurant and marketing operations desired


  • Must have the ability to express ideas persuasively and clearly.
  • Must have good written and oral communication skills.
  • Must have good customer service skills.
  • Must have the ability to organize and present material in a manner to gain agreement or acceptance.
  • Must have the ability to create, be creative, and develop ideas and projects.


  • Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint Internet applications.
  • Social/Digital Media Platforms
