Job Description

Infant /Toddler Teacher serves as a team member in an assigned staff group. Plans and implements programs for infants/toddlers. Provides a learning environment that is safe, healthy and comfortable in order to enhance growth and development. Implements classroom program in compliance with CCG standards, Early Head Start Performance Standards, NAEYC criteria, and local and state licensing standards. Assist Lead Teacher with classroom environment in addition to share responsibility of setting up room for daily activities. Infant /Toddler Teacher is responsible for providing attractive and functional learning centers inside the classroom. Serves in the Teacher role for center assigned group. Work under the general supervision of the Site-Based Manager with demand for independent judgment.

Job Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent required; Infant & Toddler Early Childhood CDA required.
Bilingual Preferred.
One year experience working with young children required.
Must demonstrate desire to work with young children, have general knowledge of “normal” growth and development.
Must demonstrate ability to work as a team member and work effectively with all levels of staff, parents and center volunteers.
Must demonstrate good organizational skills and written and oral communication skills.
Regular and prompt attendance required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT
Minimal travel required. Must have reliable transportation; valid Texas driver’s license, proof of liability insurance and driving record acceptable to CCG’s automobile liability insurance carrier.
Annual TB test and physical examination every two years required.
Work requires normal physical effort, visual attention, manual dexterity or coordination; any lifting restricted to items or children weighing up to 50 lbs.
Normal classroom environment with children and a minimum amount of hazards.
