Job Description

Primary job functions and performance expectations:

  • Provides direct in-home therapy services as part of a Therapist/Case Manager team to Child and Adolescent clients.
  • Ensures that all necessary information is obtained at the intake/initial in home contact.
  • Provides individualized therapy according to local and accepted professional standards, as well as, client's plan of care.
  • Utilizes all means to follow-up with clients in the event of missed or cancelled sessions
  • Exercises proper judgement as to when and where clients are referred.
  • Documentation is concise, accurate, and occurs within one full working day of all clinical activities.
  • Maintains and provides accurate consultation to community agencies.
  • Provides accurate expert witness testimony at court/attorneys request.

Maintains and provides liaison and education for the Center, other community agencies, and the general public.

  • Presentations are accurately targeted toward audience.
  • Effectively serves as a positive advocate for mental health services in the area.

Maintain and improve Professional Skills

  • Attend and actively participates in professional workshops, in-service training, and Quality Assurance review.
  • Reads current professional literature, which pertains to therapeutic interventions for SED children/adolescents, family, couples and group therapy and incorporates this information into services provided.
  • Attends and participates in staff meetings and supervisory sessions as scheduled.
  • Effectively utilizes people on staff for consultation.

Provides 24-hour crisis interventions as needed

  • Responds to emergencies as needed. Assures client safety and welfare through adherence to emergency and safety policy procedures.
  • Safely ensures the well being of clients while transporting to/from appointments, activities and other scheduled meetings.

Job Requirements


  • Master's Degree in one of the Behavioral Sciences (Psychology, Counseling, Social Work)
  • Medicaid Eligibility and valid Alabama drivers license; maintenance of a good driving record, personal
  • 1 Year Post Master's experience REQUIRED.
  • Department of Mental Health approved in-home therapy and case management training programs post hire
