Job Description

Advanced Quality Technician for PWB support in our Scottsdale, AZ location.  
 
REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES AND TASKS:
 
  • Work closely with project engineers, internal customers, and suppliers to ensure compliance to flow down requirements
  • Review PWB requirements and validate against supplier details
  • Apply IPC-A-600, AS9102 and other PWB standards during inspection efforts
  • Support occasional travel to perform source and other inspections
  • Determines requirement compliance of mechanical, electro-mechanical and electronic parts and materials through visual inspection, electrical or mechanical screening and physical measurements
  • Works directly with project engineering and QA to develop part testing and screening requirements
  • Reviews data including: supplier part data, final data packages, external screening results, etc.
  • Assists in first article and first piece inspection (Mechanical Tech only)
  • Compares defects against standards and recommend disposition
  • Participates in team meetings
  • Reviews and dispositions QA documentation (IDRs, DNs)
  • Generates and/or verifies traceability information
  • Verifies compliance to defined processing
  • Reviews parts for conformance to drawings
  • Interfacing with coworkers and internal/external customers
  • Subject matter expert (SME) in one discipline/field and developing working knowledge in adjacent disciplines/fields 
  • KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
  • Certified in IPC-A-600
  • Understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing)
  • Fully proficient knowledge of basic electrical or mechanical technology
  • Fully proficient knowledge of ESD control
  • Fully proficient knowledge of Workmanship standards
  • Fully proficient knowledge of drawing interpretation
  • Skill in using PC applications (Microsoft Word, Excel)
  • Skill in using basic inspection/measurement tools
  • Fully proficient knowledge and understanding of documentation, processing and production paperwork
  • Skill in using specific computer production tools
  • Knowledge of metallurgy
  • Solid knowledge of military and industry test methods and standards
  • Skilled in general computer operation understanding (MS Word, Excel) and parts handlers
