Job Description

Seeking a Cyber Systems Engineer with to design, architect, develop and maintain Information Assurance and Cyber custom solutions as well as Assessment & Authorization (A&A) activities.
 
Key responsibilities include:
  • Systems design, architecture, development and maintenance of custom cyber security solutions
  • Planning, scheduling, and executing Assessment & Authorization (A&A) activities
  • Multi-platform security compliance & vulnerability scanning and remediation
  • Execution of Security Test & Evaluation activities for verification of security requirements
  • Applying knowledge of current IA policies to the architecture and design of secure solutions to customer needs and requirements
  • Performing hands-on technical implementation of security solutions comprised of commercial and FOSS products, and custom-developed software products
  • Developing trade studies, analyses, reports and briefings as required
Required Skills:
  • Six years of demonstrated experience in cyber security
  • Operational experience with security guidelines (e.g. NIST, ICD 503) 
  • Experience with US Government and Commercial cyber security engineering projects
  • Strong understanding of security design and architecture with ability to develop solutions to complex compliance and security problems
  • Experience with security compliance and vulnerability assessment scanning
  • Self-motivated and capable of performing tasks with minimal oversight in dynamic environment
  • Work collaboratively, in a team environment across traditional engineering disciplines
  • Excellent communication skills, including presentation skills
  • Security Certification in accordance to DoD 8570.01 IAT-II or higher (e.g. Security+ CE, SSCP, etc.; CISSP is preferable)
  • At least an active Secret or higher is required.
Desired Skills
  • Experience with Assessment & Authorization (A&A) activities, including the development of System Security Plans (SSP) and other supporting documentation (SP800-57, ICD503 preferred)
  • Experience using Tenable Nessus/Security Center/ ACAS
  • Experience in systems engineering, life-cycle management, & engineering change processes
    • Hands-on technical experience with documentation skills and experience in some of the following areas: Linux system administration; Windows system administration; Network component administration; VMware administration; Operating system hardening
    • COTS and FOSS patch management/deployment experience
    • Previous experience in Verification, Validation and Accreditation
