Drafting and Design Specialist

Location: York, PA 17408
Duration: 7 months
 
US Citizenship is required.
 
You're an innovative and practical with your mechanical and electromechanical concepts and designs for components, assemblies, tools, and products of varying complexity.
 
You enjoy working closely with engineering, vendors, manufacturing, quality, and customers on design specifications.
 
And, your designs are free of layout process defects.
 
You can easily review, see and correct issues with engineering documents to ensure compliance with engineering and military standards, procedures, specifications, and accuracy of calculations and dimensions.
 
You have worked with Unigraphics UG NX-11, and maybe even Creo 4.

Some examples of what you will be doing starting on Day-1:
  • Develop innovative concepts that satisfy functional and operational requirements for existing product lines and new product development programs by using sound design principles and practices.
  • Prepare moderately complex design layouts, schematics or sketches (including test plans, procedures, or specifications) of component(s) or a portion of a functional system to satisfy system and integration requirements within cost and producibility constraints.
  • Prepare drawing packages to military or equivalent ASME standards.
  • Check completed layouts, drawings, test plans, test reports, procedures, and change history documentation (e.g., engineering change notices) for clarity, completeness, conformance to engineering, military, and industrial standards, procedures, specifications, and codes, and ensures accuracy of calculations and dimensions.
  • Evaluate completed drawings, specifications, and procedures for producibility and viability of design, appropriateness of tolerances, fits, finishes, materials, and validates integration of equipment.
  • Perform and document technical calculations such as design evaluations, tolerance studies, mass and section properties, static and dynamic loading.
  • Identify assembly interference, design errors, omissions and other deficiencies, and recommends revisions and/or improvements in design.
  • Work with various internal customers to solve moderately complex technical problems.
  • May work with external customers to solve moderately complex technical problems.

Here's what we're looking for...
 
Required:
  • US Citizen
  • 6 years drafting and design experience, including a minimum of two years design work.
  • Associate Degree with emphasis in engineering drafting/design or an equivalent combination of training and experience
  • Creation of model centric models and drawings utilizing UG NX11

Desired:
  • Experience in a defense environment
  • Creo 4
