Electrical Engineer - Vehicles + Electrical/Electronic Components
 
Location: San Jose, CA 95119
Duration: 6 months (estimated)
 
You MUST be a US Citizen.
 
You are an Electrical Engineer who has worked on all or some of the following:
  • electrical cabling
  • power generation
  • power distribution
  • energy storage elements
  • fire control
  • turret drives
 
We need your help with supporting and maturing the Army's next generation vehicles.
 
As a Sr. Electrical Engineer your responsibilities include maturing the vehicle design and integrating various electrical/electronic components and vehicle architectures related to power generation, power distribution, cabling, and communication equipment.
 
You have experience using lab test equipment, such as oscilloscopes, power analyzers, CAN bus diagnostics tools, data acquisition such as LabVIEW for test and verification.
 
You have real experience with electrical schematic captures and simulation tools, like SPICE. And, you are familiarity with DC and AC military specification or commercial power standards and testing requirements.

You enjoy working in a lab environment, and you're comfortable working with high voltage and high current components.
 
And, you are able to get inside of and easily move about in a large, but sometimes-limited interior-space vehicle, and be able to move about during integration and test activities.
 
For you to be productive on Day-1, you need the following in your background:
 
Required:
  • US Citizen
  • Bachelors or Masters in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering.
  • Minimum Five (5) years experience with Bachelors, or 3 years experience with Masters
  • Working knowledge of military vehicles including electrical cabling, power generation, distribution, energy storage element, fire control, and turret drives.
  • Experience with electrical schematic captures and simulation tools like SPICE
  • Ability to develop concepts to describe designs at the component, module and sub-system levels with the ability to generate suitable specifications, interface control documents, drawings, and schematics.
  • Working knowledge of communication serial data busses such as CANbus and Ethernet.
  • Willing to work in a lab environment with high voltage and high current components.
  • Willing to travel 25%
  • Well-developed teamwork skills
  • Great technical writing skills
  • Outstanding verbal communication skills

Desired:
  • Experience using lab test equipment, such as oscilloscopes, power analyzers, CAN bus diagnostics tools, data acquisition such as LabVIEW for test and verification
  • Familiarity with DC and AC military specification or commercial power standards and testing requirements
