FPGA Design Engineer
 Active/Interim Secret Clearance REQUIRED
  El Segundo, CA 90245
Long Term Contract with Great Rates and Option of Full Benefits
 
 
Our world class team needs an FPGA design and implementation expert, who is great with VHDL and tools such as Mentor Graphics ModelSim/QuestaSim, Synplify, Xilinx ISE, Vivado and Altera Quartus. If you know how to generate Printed Wiring Board (PWB) layouts and fabrication and are comfortable in a world of high-speed transceivers, DDR, and bus standards such as VME, PCI, PCIe, VPX, and Gb Ethernet, this would be an opporunity to expand your skills whilw working on a great program
 
You'll be working primarily with radar systems that are capable of detecting and accurately locating both stationary and moving ground targets. The target information is transmitted via a wideband data link to a ground station. The radar is capable of producing extremely high resolution images at long range. The system is also used during natural disasters such as gathering otherwise unavailable image details including floods and earthquakes.
 
You'll need to be ready to be instantly productive on your first day, and to do that, you will need the following experienhce and skills in your background:
 
Required:
  • US Citizen
  • Interim or Active Secret Clearance (Department of Defense)
  • Minimum 6 years of experience in FPGA design implementation and testing with a Bachelors, or 4 years with a related Master’s degree
  • Experience with Mentor Graphics Design Tool Set to create schematics that contain microprocessor, FPGAs, high-speed transceivers, DDR and flash memories, block diagrams, parts lists and design review packages for complex electronics
  • Able to generate Printed Wiring Board (PWB) layout constraint guidelines, oversee the layout and fabrication of the design
  • Hands-on experience in testing of products using logic analyzer, high-speed oscilloscopes, signal generators, and FPGA debugging tools
  • Experience with interfaces and bus standards such as: VME, PCI, PCIe, VPX, and Gb Ethernet
  • Experience designing with Xilinx and/or Altera FPGAs
  • Expertise in FPGA development tools such as ModelSim/QuestaSim, Synplify, Xilinx ISE, Vivado and Altera Quartus
  • Knowledge of FPGA design implementation with VHDL design language
  • Possess skills to handle fast pace and dynamic product development environment
  • Strong team player with good interpersonal skills as well as excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Willing to travel occasionally
