Infrastructure Engineer-Mid 
Faitfax, VA
9 to 18 Month Contract 
 
Department of Defense Secret security clearance is required at time of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.
  • Interact with product and service teams to identify questions and issues within current architecture
  • Support migration of existing system architecture into an IaaS architecture
  • Support certification and delivery of new architecture
  • Select, Install, and Troubleshoot Hardware
  • Shape future products by contributing to the architecture framework used across multiple products or systems
  • Network infrastructure design
  • Security policy implementation and monitoring for threats
  • Site reliability testing
  • Storage management, including both local storage hardware and cloud storage systems
  • Virtualization, with systems such as VMware and Citrix
  • Containerization, with systems such as Docker and Kubernetes
  • Cloud migration, plus management of existing cloud solutions
  • Web server deployment and maintenance
  • Process automation
  • Virtual private network (VPN) configuration and security
  • Windows or Linux administration
  • Local software issue repairs
  • Recommendation of hardware upgrades
You'll be working with a team to:
  • Interact with product and service teams to identify questions and issues within current architecture

What we want you to bring to our team:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related specialized area or field is required, plus a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree plus a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Design experience with modern microprocessors and microcontrollers
  • Coordination of embedded systems design with system developers
  • Evaluation of vendor capabilities to support product selection and development
  • Generate specifications for hardware architecture
  • Proficiency in hardware: resource allocation, CPU pinning, hyperthreading, GPUs/vGPU,
  • Ability to perform, compile, and interpret hardware and software benchmarks/metrics using opensource tools
  • Familiarity with reading/creating scripts (Python, Bash, etc.)
  • Experience with RedHat 7 or later
  • Experience with cloud based environments and technologies (IaaS, PaaS, KVM/QEMU, CRI-O/Docker, etc.)
  • Ability to rack and stack hardware
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills, and the ability to stay focused on completing tasks/deadlines within a dynamic environment
Experience and Skills that will set you apart:
  • Thorough understanding of the Linux Kernel and experience with compiling/modifying the kernel for performance
  • Understanding of software architectures and programming
  • Implementation of Cybersecurity at the hardware level
  • Experience with Agile development and working on sprint teams
  • Creative thinking with the ability to multi-task
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative (team) environment
  • Ability to quickly grasp and apply new information
  • Ability to handle more complex assignments as experience progresses
  • Self-motivated, engaged, continuously learning and looking for ways to improve things
