Responsibilities:
Bachelor's degree in a related specialized area or field or equivalent is required plus a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree plus a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience
 
CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS:
Department of Defense Top Secret security clearance is required at time of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required. 
 
Qualifications:
Our client has an exciting opportunity for you to become a part of the Enhanced Mobile Satellite Services (EMSS) team as a LINUX / Redhat System Administrator for the Iridium satellite-based communications system's gateway in Wahiawa, HI. This dual role is responsible for operating system maintenance, application installations, patch management, user account management, system backups, and maintaining compliance with government computer security standards. In addition, the successful candidate should have a working knowledge of network management for EMSS infrastructure equipment to include switches, routers and firewalls.   Other opportunities in this role include:
  • Interfaces with the government customer, vendors, and technical peers for all matters relating to the EMSS support network and Gateway subsystems.
  • Secures EMSS systems in accordance with DISA Field Security Operations (FSO) Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIG).
  • Researching difficult technical problems and providing recommendations for resolution
  • Mentoring and providing technical direction to less experienced associate engineers and technicians
 
Basic Qualifications:
 
The LINUX / Redhat System Administrator position requires a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems Management, Engineering or related field, or the equivalent experience. In addition a minimum of eight years of progressively more responsible experience is required.  
  
The UNIX System must be proficient in the following:
  • Substantial Redhat / Linux system administration required
  • Solaris / CentOS / UNIX experience
  • 8570 compliant (active CISSP or Security+ with CE or equivalent)
  • Background in securing systems in accordance with STIG and/or industry best practices using CVEs, IAVMs, SCAP, HBSS, and ACAS
  • Familiarity with VMWare ESXi, NetApp, CommVault, SyncSort/DPX, RSA SecurID, and F5
  • Familiarity with IP networking, Cisco IOS, routers, switches, Cisco ASA, Palo Alto, Forcepoint, and McAfee Firewall Systems
  • Working knowledge of network aggregation tools (i.e., Gigamon)
  • Understand Splunk, Wireshark, tcpdump, and snort
  • This position requires after hours on-call support
  • Strong written/verbal skills (English language fluency)
Qualifications (Preferred):
  • CCNA or other Cisco certification a plus
  • Previous hands-on with bulk encryption devices (i.e., TACLANE, etc.) a plus
  • Familiarity with MySQL and Oracle 12g a huge plus
  • Telephony and satellite communication background
  • UNIX Shell scripting, PERL experience a plus
  • Must be willing and able to travel 10% of the time
