Mechanical Engineer - Vehicle Special Equipment and Stowage
Location: York, PA 17408
Duration: 2 years
US Citizenship is required.
Ready to use your Mechanical Engineering background to work on Special Equipment and Stowage systems on a military recovery vehicle?
We are modernizing the M88 Recovery Vehicle (Google it!) and we need your engineering expertise and your excellence in working with, communicating with, and leading your coworkers.
Let's get down to business. Here's what we're hoping to see in you...
  • US Citizen
  • Understanding of and the ability to apply engineering principles, concepts, practices and standards.
  • Ability to: analyze requirements, design mechanical hardware, and select appropriate hardware/components & materials, review drawings and associated Bill of Materials (BOM).
  • Experience designing mechanical hardware such as brackets, covers, seals, etc.
  • Experience leading small design teams (3-5 people).
  • Excellent customer relationship and communication skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering. May consider closely related degrees.

  • Experience working with off-road or construction equipment.
  • Experience in the development and design of on-vehicle stowage provisions for equipment such as maintenance tools, deep water fording kits, etc.
  • Familiarity with ASME Y14.100 and Y14.5
  • Experience in the preparation and revision of part procurement specifications for definition and control purposes to facilitate part/material acquisition, and supporting supplier management and material procurement activities.
  • Experience working in the defense industry.
