Opportunity:  NPI Buyer Planner / DOD-Aerospace / Phoenix AZ (Immediate need…)

What you will be doing: Plans and organizes all elements of new product manufacturing and distribution related to the acquisition and movement of materials. Performs a wide variety of tasks relating to the incoming and outgoing of materials, products or equipment. Performs a wide variety of planning, scheduling, coordinating and reporting tasks in support of the manufacturing workflow.
You are responsible for:
  • Interfaces with various internal departments to develop and implement policies and procedures.
  • Validates information entered into MRP system for NPI items are sufficient to allow flawless procurement/manufacturing
  • Identify demand needs and ensure the system is appropriately flowing those demands to production and purchasing.
  • Manages vendor relationships for the transfer of new designs to suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Identify opportunities for inventory reductions through common components and MRP configurations.
  • Manage priorities of new products into production flow, working with Manufacturing and Production Planning.
  • Plans and manages the qualification of new vendors and subcontractors necessary to support prototypes and new products.
  • Monitor inventory transactions at warehouse facilities to assess receiving, storage, shipping, or inventory integrity.
  • Develops and reports Line of Balance reports for new products, through qualification.
  • Provide ongoing analyses in areas such as parts procurement, back orders, or delivery processes.
  • Recommend improvements to existing or planned logistics processes.
  • Review procedures, such as distribution or inventory management, to ensure maximum efficiency or minimum cost.
Minimum Requirements:
  • 5+ years experience
  • Knowledge manufacturing planning practices and procedures.
  • Knowledge of electronics manufacturing.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Proficiency in MS Office
  • Excellent customer services skills are required for contact with vendors and customers.
  • MRP system knowledge required.
  • Exercise good judgment regarding the appropriate quality and quantity of supplies and equipment.
