Opportunity:  Senior Advanced Network Design Engineer / DOD-Aerospace / Scottsdale AZ / SECRET/ (Immediate need…)

Education:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, a related specialized area or field is required (or equivalent experience) plus a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree plus a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience
 
Department of Defense Secret security clearance is required at time of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES AND TASKS:
  • Large Communication Network Management Systems, Operations and Maintenance Strategy
  • ITIL and Service Management Framework
  • DevOps methods of Service Deployment
  • Designs and plans network systems
  • Provides specifications, requirements, concepts and detailed designs for network architectures
  • Provides specific, detailed information for Network Management hardware and software selection, implementation techniques, and tools for the most efficient solution to meet business needs, including present and future capacity requirements
  • Provides technical analysis in data network planning, engineering, and design
  • Provides analysis for implementation techniques and tools for the most efficient solution to network management problems
  • Maintains technical expertise in all areas of networks, network management systems, ,computer hardware as well as understanding of large IP system architectures including network interconnection and interfacing such as routers, switches, load balancers, , bridges, gateways, etc.
  • May assist in the development of uniform network operation procedures
  • Conducts testing of network management systems
  •  Evaluates and reports on new network management technologies to enhance capabilities of the network

  • Is a subject matter expert (SME) in at least one discipline/field and possesses working knowledge in multiple adjacent disciplines/fields
  • Possesses excellent specialized skills or is recognized for expertise in a specialized area of focus
  • Excellent ability to develop solutions to highly complex problems that require significant ingenuity, innovation and creativity
  • Applies extensive technical expertise and has full knowledge of other related disciplines
  • Performs work without appreciable direction
  • May act as a team leader, thus, contributing to the successful completion of a major program
  • May mentor more junior staff
  • Interacts with senior external personnel on significant technical matters often requiring coordination between organizations
  • Represents organization as prime technical contact on contracts and projects
  • Erroneous decisions or recommendations would typically result in failure to achieve major organizational objectives
  • Guides the successful completion of major programs and may function in a project leadership role
  • Completed work is reviewed from a relatively long-term perspective for desired results
  • Exercises considerable latitude in determining technical objectives of assignment
  • Ensures solutions are consistent with organization and customer objectives
  • Displays excellent leadership skills and critical thinking skills
  • May make decisions and develop concepts that have long-lasting influence on the future course of the division, function, or program
  • Travel may be required
  • DoD Secret Security clearance is required
