Job Description

Senior Principal ASIC FPGA Engineer
Location: Scottsdale, AZ 85257
Duration: 6-18 months, then possible direct hire
You MUST be a US Citizen.
You must be willing to undergo a deep background check to obtain a Department of Defense Secret Clearance (or already have a Secret Clearance).
Your FPGA and ASIC expertise is comprehensive. You know how to design, develop, simulate, test, and deploy robust products for complex environments. You may have done this in the defense/military industry.
You are able to develop a verification matrix, and define, manage, and track regression tests, simulations, and bug fixes.
You have a knack for applying System Verilog Assertions with covergroups and cover points. And, you've worked with Verification Methodologies such as OVM, VMM, and UVM (and UVM is where you stand out.)
Is this you so far?
So that you can be up-to-speed immediately on your first day, there are a few things you'll need in your background...
  • US Citizen
  • Have a DoD Active Secret Clearance or can pass an extensive background check to obtain Secret Clearance
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Computer or System Engineering, Computer Science, or a related specialized area or field
  • 8-10 years of experience leading/managing verification of FPGA/ASICSs
    • Development of verification matrix to ensure coverage of requirements
    • Defining regression test suites
    • Managing regression simulations
    • Tracking and resolving design bugs
  • 8-10 years of experience using System Verilog for verification
    • Developing and applying System Verilog Assertions (SVA) within an assertion-based verification strategy
    • Developing functional coverage (covergroups, cover points) to measure test effectiveness
    • Developing random constraints to guide constrained random simulations
    • Experienced with Direct Programming Interface (DPI)
  • 5+ years of experience with Open Verification Methodology (OVM), Universal Verification Methodology (UVM), or Verification Methodology Manual (VMM). UVM is preferred.
    • Experienced with developing testbench infrastructure (agents, drivers, monitors, interfaces, scoreboards, environments, etc.)
    • Thoroughly familiar with communication between static (module-based) and dynamic (class-based) components within a test environment
    • Experienced with test/stimulus development using transactions, sequences and sequencers

  • Active Secret Clearance (Department of Defense)
