SOFTWARE ENGINEER ~ AURORA, CO ~ ACTIVE TS/SCI REQUIRED

..will be to support the ground-based mission planning and command and control software accomodating the next-generation satellite capabilities, and implementation of new ground terminals.  Our complex domain requires forward thinking individuals who can create innovative solutions and meet evolving customer needs. We are in the midst of transforming older software development practices into more modern development practices utilizing an agile framework - experience in this area is a plus! Our small development teams adapt to evolving problem sets, and engineer benefits from a flexible work environment where engineers can migrate between teams to contribute to new domains. 
 
Must have an Active TS/SCI clearance to enter facility. Once on site, you will gain experience with the full software lifecycle including design, development, test, delivery, and maintenance. In addition to working with other software disciplines, our developers are exposed to various technologies including multi-tiered architectures, Camel, Spring, OSGi, and geospatial visualization tools.

The overall responsibilities of this role will be to: 
  • Develop code in compliance with requirements and defined architecture
  • Develop and improve advanced algorithms that handle large data sets with complex constraints.
  • Support change request (CR) work-off
  • Support Test Engineering for integration and test activities and events
  • Participate in Change Request Review Board (CRRB), as needed
  • Occasionally, provide support to operations (remotely and on-site), and provide input to cost estimation efforts for MCRs, ECPs, and proposals
Requirements
  • US Citizen with an Current/active TS/SCI SSBI level clearance
  • Bachelor of Science, BS in Computer Science, Aerospace Engineering, Physics, Mathematics plus
  • Minimum 6+ years of Java/ C++ programming experience
  • 6+ years of SW development experience using object-oriented techniques
  • Object Oriented Analysis (OOA) and Object Oriented Design (OOD) skills 

Additional weight given to candidates with familiarity in one or more of the following: 
     • Agile     • Linux     •Design tools such as Rational Rose, Rhapsody, ClearCase or comparable tools
     • Requirements and use case analysis    • Experience with scripting (Ruby, Perl, Python, PHP, etc.)
     • Agile (Scrum, Kanban, Scrumban, SAFe, etc)     • DevOps and Continuous Integration
     • Integrated Development Environmenst (IDE) like Eclipse
     • Knowledge and/or experience with mission management/scheduling/flight dynamics, to include:
     • Satellite ground systems     • Mission Management systems    • Planning and Scheduling   • Command and Telemetry
     • Flight Dynamics models      • Digital Signal Processing (FFTs, modulation/demodulation techniques)
     • Knowledge of system integration and system test     • Government software development contracts 
     • Complex satellite ground systems, particularly previous deployment of developed systems to ground station operations
     • Experience in architecture design/development of SW centric system
     • Six Sigma Specialist or equivalent.
