Infrastructure Engineer (FEP) needed - Location: Aurora, CO
                  
I am working with anexcellent aerospace companyand we are searching for a talented Front End Processing (FEP) Infrastructure Engineering candidate to support our Linux based Front End Processing (FEP) system. This is a 12 month contract (with possible extension) where you will work onsite in Aurora, CO.  You must be a US Citizen with an active Secret Clearance to apply.
 
Clearance Requirement:
US Citizenship & an Active U.S. Security Clearance (DOD Secret) is required to apply
 
Pay Rate: $71-76/hr (DOE) 
 
 
Description/Comment:
 
This role will manage and support our deployed FEP equipment, used as the interface between satellite command and control systems and Ground Terminal (GT) equipment.
 
The qualified candidates will perform duties which include, but are not limited to, the following:
 
  • Configuring & implementing Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) versions 6 and 7 and Windows 10 based information systems to manage the configuration and troubleshooting of the FEP.
  • Develop Hardware Engineering designs based on meeting requirements for electrical systems design
  • Configure and manage network connectivity for the system
  • Performing evaluation of technical implementation of design solutions comprised of COTS as well as custom developed products
 
Responsibilities:
 
  • Prepare Hardware Engineering specifications for subsystems and procurement specifications
  • Represent Hardware Engineering in development and evaluation of system architectures, designs, and interfaces that meet system specifications
  • Support design, integration and verification activities of existing and new Front end processing systems.
  • Develop drawings for FEP equipment systems through tools such as Visio and AutoCAD.
 
 
Required Skills:
 
  • 4+ years of hands-on administration experience on RHEL O/S system relating to servers and workstations
  • Experience designing an integrated system that includes network, compute, and specialized FEP equipment
  • General knowledge of common information system (compute and network) hardware interfaces
  • 2+ years of practical experience verification of hardening IT systems in compliance with Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs)
  • Ability and willingness to work flexible hours, may include weekends
 
Desired Skills:
 
  • Experience using and configuring hardware (e.g. setting up system network time protocol)
  • Experience system troubleshooting in heterogeneous hardware environments
  • Experience with hardware testing
  • Experience with requirements management throughout the product development lifecycle
  • Experience participating in hardware design and development activities.
 
Minimum Education and Experience:
Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) with emphasis in Electrical Engineering and 4 + years of related work experience or 12 years of experience in lieu of degree
