Sr. Mechanical Engineer - Vehicle Operator Controls / Fuel Delivery
 
Location: York, PA 17408
Duration: 2 years
 
US Citizenship is required.
 
You're a top-notch Mechanical Engineer.
 
You know all about vehicle operator controls and fuel delivery systems.
 
Maybe you have even been a Mechanical Engineer for military vehicles? Maybe even recovery vehicles? Any off-road, 4+ wheel, ground vehicle might work, too.
 
We are modernizing our M88 Recovery Vehicle Auxiliary Systems, and need your help, especially with operator controls and fuel delivery (Engine / APU / Heater).
 
Here's what you have in your background...
 
Required:
  • US Citizen
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering. May consider closely related degrees
  • Experience designing fuel systems and designing/specifying fuel system components (pumps, hoses, valves).
  • Experience designing mechanisms and linkages.
  • Experience designing/specifying digital displays and electronic control interfaces.
  • Ability to analyze requirements, design hardware, and select appropriate hardware/components & materials.
  • Complete understanding of and ability to apply engineering principles, concepts, practices and standards.
  • Ability to review and drawings, and associated Bill of Materials (BOMs) and identify necessary corrections.
  • Excellent customer relationship and communication skills.
 
Desired:
  • Knowledge of ASME Y14.100 and Y14.5
  • Experience designing vehicle operator controls, to include braking, steering, shifting, and throttle mechanisms.
  • Experience working within the defense industry.
  • Experience working with off-road/off-highway vehicles.
  • Experience leading small design teams (2-4 people).
  • Experience performing development work to the assigned budgets and project schedules in an integrated product team environment.
  • Experience preparing and revising part procurement specifications for definition and control purposes to facilitate part/material acquisition.
  • Experience supporting supplier management and material procurement activities.
