Job Description

The Sr. Multi-Disciplined Engineer I is responsible for maintaining the hardware development and maintenance activities for the Program’s Front End Processor (FEP) hardware subsystem and associated Engineering Documentation and will participate in day-to-day hardware maintenance activities, which include but are not limited to:

•Maintain cognizance of FEP Hardware.

•Hardware retrofit and installation.

•Parts sparing and obsolescence.

•Run FEP hardware / software diagnostic tools.

•Troubleshoot electronic components to module level.

•Work closely with FEP engineering team to help resolve system issues.

•Support maintenance & test activities for the factory and customer locations. (Requires some travel).

The FEP Maintainer analyzes System parameters to insure system requirements are met using analytical tools. Supports architecture development and future system enhancements based on requirements including interface definition, parts selection with consideration given to environmental variables, safety, site constraints and lessons learned. Prepares statements that convey the fundamental characteristics of the design objective as necessary. Writes and reviews manuals, procedures, plans, specifications, engineering drawings and notebooks. Reports time and material estimates based on requirements. Communicates technical information to an audience. Assists in the integration of hardware and software elements into a subsystem. Assists in the verification of hardware and software requirements as they apply to the subsystem. Analyzes electrical loading, grounding configuration and supply power requirements. Analyzes thermal loading and environmental attributes. Follows organizational processes and creates program specific work instructions when necessary.

Required Skills:

•General knowledge with Front-End Processor Subsystem

•Broad knowledge of software, operating systems, hardware, and networking

•Familiar with spacecraft command and telemetry processing

•Familiar with Linux commands and software installation

•Experience with software and hardware configuration management principles and systems

•Excellent troubleshooting skills, able to isolate problems with command and telemetry flows, including distinguishing between hardware and software problems

•History with COMSEC handling and key loading

•Must be willing to travel occasionally to customer facilities (in the continental US).

•U.S. Citizenship and existing or able to obtain a DOD Secret Clearance

Requires a Degree in Science Technology Engineering or Math (STEM) with emphasis in electrical engineering and 6+ years of relatable experience
