Systems Engineer - Weather Satellite Ground Control
Location: Aurora, CO 80011
Duration: 1 year
You MUST be a US Citizen.
You are a detail oriented, bright, and dedicated systems and software engineer. You are security minded. You are incredible with system engineering analysis including implementation and design documentations and requirement reviews and verifications. You are both serious and fun when working on your projects and with your team members and customers.
With the regular news reports of the increased intensity of strong weather systems, predicting and monitoring weather systems is increasingly important. Consider how the weather also affects our military. Improved technology is allowing us to substantially upgrade our capabilities.
We're developing the next-generation global weather satellite system, and we need your help.
The primary part of the system that we (and you, hopefully) are developing, deploying, and sustaining is the Common Ground System... which includes the Interface Data Processing Segment (IDPS) and the Command, Control, and Communications Segment (C3S).
Some of the things you'll be working on include...
  • Perform system engineering analysis including implementation and design documentations and requirement reviews and verifications.
  • Support to the C3S Security team through the Tech Refresh process
  • Analyze large amounts of data/strong analytical skills
  • Support to hardening planning, implementation and validation
  • Provide document reviews and resolve technical systems engineering issues
  • Coordinate with remote site personnel
  • Work with external entities to configure and troubleshoot interface issues.
  • Follow established SE processes and procedures.
  • Support proposal efforts as needed
So that you can be instantly productive, you already have in your background the following...
  • US Citizen
  • 4+ years of experience as a Systems Engineer
  • Experience with NESSUS/Security Center
  • Ability to analyze a large amount of data/strong analytical skills
  • Adaptable/quick learner
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of NIST 800-53 Security controls
  • Demonstrated understanding of software engineering lifecycle and change management process
  • Experience with Technical Writing
  • Good verbal and written communications
  • DOORs and requirement management experience
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity controls
  • CISSP certification
  • Bachelor Degree
