Job Description

Technical Illustrator / Creo Parametric Models
Location: Sterling Heights, MI 48312
Duration: 6 months
You MUST be a US Citizen.
You are a skilled technical illustrator who, with minimal supervision, can easily create complex graphs, charts, schematics, and 2D and 3D drawings for use in technical manuals, and for a variety of ILS technical documents and publications.
You know how to perform quality control illustrations before they are released as complete.
You can work with people of various background, technical and non-technical, to provide to them graphical, drawing, and illustration needs.
You're an expert with Creo Parametric models, and you know how to incorporate customer standards, company standards, specifications, and mathematical formulas to develop designs of details not completely defined.
You are also good with expanded/extended views of assemblies, line art from photos, illustrations from hand art, and you can start with a blank page. You can create illustrations from engineering drawings, and you know how to validate illustrations.
With your automation skills, you can revolutionize and eliminate redundant steps with macros, scripting, or other programming languages (like AutoLisp).
Your skills and personality makes you a great trainer and mentor who can lead less experienced illustrators, from orienting new hires up to leading projects.
Is this you? Excellent! You'll need a few things in your background so that you can be productive on Day-1...
  • 8 years direct Technical Illustration experience with Associates Degree, or 10 years with High School Diploma.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience in using IsoDraw, Creo Parametric, Adobe Illustrator or equivalent tools.
  • Experience with Creo Parametric or similar 3D CAD program model manipulation tools.
  • Ability to modify Creo Parametric models.
  • Knowledge of military technical manual specifications, military contracts for technical publications, and technical illustrating performance standards.
  • Ability to manipulate DXF, PRT, JPG, TIFF, DWG, PDF, GIF and other graphic formats to create illustrations in IsoDraw, Creo Illustrate and Adobe software.
  • Ability to visualize 3D perspective from 2D drawings.
  • Great verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent time management and multitasking skills.
