Chief Executive Officer
Summary:
 
Provides strategic direction, financial and operational oversight of Dayton Physicians, LLC (DPLLC) service lines and of Radiation Oncology Services, LLC (ROSLCC) in accordance with the Licensing and Management Agreements and in keeping with the mission, vision and values outlined for the organization by the Board of Managers (BOM).
 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Directs the organization in keeping with the mission, vision and values outlined for the organization by the BOM.
  • Represents DPN as requires, including attendance of important functions, industry events and public meetings.
  • Develop, update and implement the strategic and operating business plans in conjunction with the BOM.
  • Oversees quality control throughout the organization, establishing goals for each department in partnership with division leaders.
  • Initiate and explore relationships that will expand service line offerings for a more comprehensive medical practice that captures and expands market share, enhances quality, safety, customer satisfaction and enhances the value of the business.
  • Explore opportunities to expand existing or new service line offerings through the use of resources, physical locations and scope of clinical services. Explore regulatory and financial implications of business opportunities.
  • Prepares for future health care reform through expansion of service lines to create a more comprehensive group that can be considered as accountable care organizations.
  • Review and implement strategies to increase revenue and decrease costs. Explore and implement strategies to increase operational efficiency.
  • Develop and support an organizational structure and operational culture that is patient centered, respectful, trustworthy and integrity based.
  • Informs the BOM regarding current trends, statistical analysis, financial issues, challenges and operational activities.
  • Recommends policy positions for the organization to the BOM.
  • Coordinates with the BOM, Physicians, Directors, Managers and employees for the monitoring of medical activities to ensure safe, efficient, cost effective and high-quality services.
  • Ensures strategic and appropriate Human Resource activities to recruit, develop, evaluate and retain staff in levels commensurate with workload and budgets.
  • Ensures with the BOM compliance with all regulatory agencies governing healthcare delivery and the rules of accrediting bodies.
  • Responsible for strategic Information Technology (IT) systems planning. Monitors IT operations, programs, and physical properties and initiates appropriate changes with the Physicians and Directors.
  • Directs the financial and accounting functions to ensure accurate statements and reporting information for DPLLC and ROSLLC.
  • Ensures the timely payment of current liabilities to creditors, proper recording and control of cash receipts, recording of fixed assets, development of procedures, instructions, controls and reports for DPLLC and ROSLLC.
  • Responsible for interactions with outside vendors and strategic partners. Responsible for all vendor contracts, loans, and expenditures according to the following guidelines:
  • Signature approval required for approval budgeted items:
    • CEO                                  $0-$50,000
    • BOM                                Over $50,000

  • Signature approval required for non-budgeted items:
    • CEO                                         $0-$5,000
    • BOM                                        Over $5,000

  • Performs all other related work as required.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
 
Provides strategic direction, managerial oversight, supervision and assistance to the Service Line Directors of DPLLC, the Administrative Director of ROSLLC, as well as the CFO, IT Director, HR Director, Nursing Director, Pharmacy Director and the Marketing & Communication Director.
 
Required Education and/ or Experience:
  • Bachelor's Degree required, advance degree preferred with emphasis on finance or accounting.
  • Professional Development Courses in Health Care Management
  • Five years of management and administrative experience in large physician group management, demonstrated knowledge of Oncology services, operations, and billing.
  • Experience in payroll, accounts payable, budgeting required; ability to prepare comprehensive reports.
  • Knowledge of the principles and practices of employee development to ensure organizational success.
  • Skilled in analyzing situations accurately and taking effective action.
  • Ability to organize and integrate organizational priorities and deadlines.
General Skill Requirements:
  • This position requires excellent oral and written communication
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Critical Evaluation and Business Acumen
  • Ethical Practice, Organizational and Cultural Awareness
Physical/ Mental Demands:
 
While performing the duties of this job employee is regularly required to use hands and fingers to handle, feel, or operate objects, tools or controls, and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to stand, talk and hear.
 
Environmental/ Working Conditions:
 
While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in an office setting. Work will be completed in a smoke-free, climate controlled office.  Office spaces may include the use of a parking lot within one half mile of the working location and may include the need to utilize stairs to access the working location.  This position requires travel to other office locations.
